Hi Yoga fans
Drum culture can be found in the history of most social ethnic groups globally, it continues to be a central part of how traditions in story telling, dance and music making brings people together for fun, learning and collective activity.
Historically speaking, the drum played and continues to play a significant role in bringing people together and in developing basic social qualities such as; group work, listening and comunication skills.
The bamana people of Mali in West Africa are cited as being the creators of the Djembe drum, "the name of the djembe comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose" In the Bambara language, "djé" is the verb for "gather" and "bé" translates as "peace".
