Awaken, Blossom, Flourish - Yoga Mantras

This quote is from ancient Yoga Texts. It is fabulous and fabulously TRUE. Once a person discovers this ancient wisdom, their life changes forever ... believe it or NOT :)

It is a very vast timeless science and so NOT boring, the opposite effect is experienced by those with an open heart and mind. It is an incredibly enlivening topic, with a life of it's own.

If you would like to find out more about yoga mantras or spiritual essence, check out our Timetable YMSPB offer beginners "How To" meditate classes, if our times don't suit you, we have friends in other areas that also offer the same types of meditation classes. Get in touch and we will try to help you find someone in your area.

Want more Paitence? Try Yoga meditation

Hi Yoga fans

Hope you are having an awesome day.

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is paitence."

I love this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, I hope you will appreciate it's wisdom also.

We all have issues with patience and would love to be MORE patient

Studies have found that people who are impatient usually have difficulty resisting the need for immediate gratification.

Sometimes they appear to others to be impulsive. These same studies have shown that meditation helps with developing paitence and curbing impulsiveness. The silent witness meditation technique is especially helpful in this instance, if you have ever thought that you would like to be a more patient person, let me reassure you it is possible.

If you would like to know more feel welcome to check out our timetable for class times, meditation, hatha yoga, yoga nidra and more. Look for an activity that would suit you and your schedule. Come and see us soon.

Have a great day.

Be A Blessing ... Share the gift of Yoga

Hi Yoga Meditation fans

If you want to truly help someone, be a blessing to someone today ..! Why not pass on to your friend, or family member the eternal gift of yoga. The yoga that we speak of is not the kind that involves hatha yoga exercises, but it is the yoga of union between the atma and paramatma the individual soul and the super soul.

In past ages the quest for self realization was very time consuming and complicated. Fortunately for us the recommended process for this age or yuga is neither time consuming, nor is it complicated. It is in fact very simple and lots of fun. This is a non-denominational practice, there is nothing to join, just a very lovely practice that will help you on your journey through life.

If you would like to know more about yoga meditation YMSPB hold beginners classes. You are welcome to rsvp and come find out for yourself what it's all about. You will find it very interesting, it's the door to a whole new world.

A yoga lifestyle encourages thankfulness and gratitude

Hey yoga meditation fans

We hope you are having a meditative day.

The consistent practice of yoga meditation cleanses the heart and mind, revealing one's shortcomings. A person therefore is less likely to display arrogance, due to the gradual, natural development of humility within the heart.

At the same time, a person feels thankful, and grateful for all that is good in their lives, their family, friends, situation, having a roof over their head, whatever it may be .. gratefulness begins to unfold naturally from a place deep within due to contact with the purifying effects of sacred sound meditation.

If you would like to learn more check our Timetable and come join us in meditation. You will love it :)

Djembe drumming for beginners

Hi Yoga fans

Drum culture can be found in the history of most social ethnic groups globally, it continues to be a central part of how traditions in story telling, dance and music making  brings people together for fun, learning and collective activity.

Historically speaking, the drum played and continues to play a significant role in bringing people together and in developing basic social qualities such as;  group work, listening and comunication skills.

The bamana people of Mali in West Africa are cited as being the creators of the Djembe drum, "the name of the djembe comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose" In the
Bambara language
, "djé" is the verb for "gather" and "bé" translates as "peace".

Sound Healing Therapy -Tibetan Singing Bowls & Sacred Sound

Dr. Mitchell Gaynor has been using sound, including Tibetan Singing Bowls and Chanting in his work with cancer patients for many years. The medical director of the Deepak Chopra center in California, Dr. David Simon, found that the sound from Tibetan Singing Bowls  are chemically metabolized into ’endogenous opiates’, that act on the body as internal painkillers and healing agents.

Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing, chanting and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of diseased and out-of-harmony parts of the body and mind.
The sounds generated by Tibetan Singing Bowls are a type of energy medicine that promote healing from stress disorders, pain, depression, and most forms of dis-ease. Unique tones create the perfect state for deep meditation.
The pure sonic waves that ring from Tibetan Singing Bowls wake up our ability to hear with more than our ears. We feel the sound from the Tibetan Singing Bowls as much as we take it in with our ears.
“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”
Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, director of Medical Oncology and Integrative Medicine, the Cornell Cancer Prevention Center in New York.

In fact, mainstream medical teaching facilities like Duke University and the University of North Carolina have added programs that link body, mind and spirit to the treatment of cancer. Cancer prevention centers are utilizing sound as a vital part of the healing process for patients with astounding results.
Chanting and Tibetan singing bowls are the perfect combination for Sound healing therapy, holistically supporting the health of body, mind & spirit. Because we are a community based group your cost will be $15- however if you bring a friend the price is discounted to $10 each. This will help us cover admin, hall hire and other related expenses.
Dress in comfortable clothing, bring a thick yoga mat or similar, a pillow, light blanket and a soft scarf or eye pillow. It's important that you are warm and comfortable.
If you are not familiar with this type of healing therapy text me 0468344108 or just rsvp, come along, experience it for yourself.
Note that this is a trial opportunity, kindly support it if you want to see it continue.

Djembe Drumming Lessons For Beginners

How can I benefit from Djembe Druming

Maybe you’ve been minding your own business, taking a leisurely stroll through a local park, and have happened upon a group of drummers seemingly pounding away in their own world of rhythm. Perhaps, if you were really lucky, you were invited to join the circle. It is these people, beating their djembes and maybe shaking their rattles, or tambourines that can inspire, intimidate or otherwise beckon the curious into their musical lair of healing and togetherness. What is it about drum circles and drumming that is so mysterious to the bystander, and how could a drum circle possibly benefit you, personally or professionally?

Drumming itself has numerous health, wellness and healing benefits. It has proven benefits for those with emotional disorders, chronic pain, stress and anxiety, hypertension, illnesses like cancer, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. It also helps improve both fine and gross motor skills, helps both sides of the brain connect and enhance neurological and cognitive functions, improve IQ and test scores, and can even boost immunity. Drumming can also burn around 270 calories per hour, making it a fun and interesting way to incorporate light cardio exercise into your routine.

Beyond the individual health and wellness benefits of drumming, a group of drummers provides its own benefits that enhance the healing properties of the drums and rhythms. Drumming with others can help establish community bonds and allow people to connect together on a level that does not require awkward small talk.

Teamwork and cooperative skills that are needed in businesses and corporations, schools or
other group organizations, are established naturally through drum circles. By participating in a drum circle, the community rhythms that are produced do not rely on only one other member, and each contributor has their own sound to add, creating a musical picture of the power of collaboration that can translate well into business environments.

With the known benefits of drumming and drum circles for people facing illness or physical limitations, and its benefits for teamwork, stress and anxiety reduction, picking up a drum could be the answer to what ails you. Even beyond the mental and physical help that drumming provides, it is also a great way to express yourself creatively. Drumming is fun, it provides fantastic health and wellness benefits and its physical, mental and emotional benefits in a group setting are even more remarkable. Grab a drum, a friend and start drumming to your own rhythms.

Thanks for this except from X8drums blog

"Mantras On Tahiti" And Yummy Vego / Vegan Dinner

Welcome

To our new event. The first one will be on Thursday May 1st. Hope to see you then. For more details on "Mantras On Tahiti" keep reading.
Greetings to those who already know about the DEVINE benefits of singing meditations (traditionally known as Kirtan) AND welcome also to new comers who would like to learn about and take part in this beautiful, ancient, scientifically based process.
This timeless practice is the perfect antidote for modern day society which sadly appears to be synonymous with struggle, stress, chaos and toxic living conditions.
This is an amazing gift passed to us by past and present self realised yoga masters, free of charge. A brilliant technique to help us uncover our spiritual essence and connect us with the Supreme. Authentic mantras also come with attractive side benefits. They help bring us into balance, help us to relax, refocus, find our center and simply let go of anxiety and life's challenges.
We invite you to come reconnect spiritually, nourish your inner being, experience heartfelt joy, harmony and happiness. Sit, or dance, breathe and listen carefully, whilst becoming deeply absorbed in the powerful transcendent sound of liberating, ancient, soulful mantras. You then have the opportunity to sing in response. Repeating meditations that uncover your pure spiritual essence, naturally.
There is nothing to join. This is a totally non-sectarian way of uniting all sentient beings, on a journey of self discovery, a pathway paved with beautiful mystical mantras.
No special skills required, no previous experience needed, this practice is suitable for everyone.

Peace to all living beings

Mouth Melties - No baking, no fuss, delicious

Mouth Melties
Peanut Butter Cacao Fudge

A Fast Silky Delish Treat. No baking. No fuss. Just blend, chill, slice and serve.

Creamy peanut butter ripple with rich coconut oil peanut butter fudge. Hints of banana, maple and cinnamon too. Crunchy raw cacao nibs on top and a thin layer of soft hemp seeds as the crust.

Makes about 9 squares

  • 1 cup + 1 Tbsp unrefined coconut oil, virgin organic cold-pressed (measure at room temperature state - fluffy form, not melted)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter, organic salted at room temperature (or warm to soften)
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt (dash)

Crust: 1/4 - 1/2 cup organic hemp seeds (available health food shops) OR combine the hemp with ground almonds if you want a thicker more solid crust.

Topping:

  • 1-2 heaped Tbsp creamy peanut butter, add a little water and mix into a liquidy drizzle-able state
  • 1-2 tbsp raw cacao nibs

Directions:

1. Add all the ingredients to a blender (high speed works best.)
2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
3. Spread (crust) hemp seeds over bottom of a deep square glass dish ( approx,. 18cm or a bit bigger).
4. Pour the blended mixture over the top of the hemp seeds.
5. Drizzle the peanut butter topping over the mixture. Swirl it with a toothpick to make a pretty design if you want. Sprinkle the cacao nibs over top.
6. Place dish in freezer for about 15-20 minutes - or until the center of the mixture has firmed - enough to slice into bars. This may take longer or shorter depending on how thick your bars are. If you are not serving the bars for a few hours you can just store the bars in the fridge.

Acupressure points

Hi Yoga Palm Beach Fans

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. Acupressure was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago. Using the power and sensitivity of the hand, Acupressure Therapy is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments, and is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care for boosting the immune system. Acupressure releases tension, increases circulation, reduces pain, and develops vibrant health. Acupressure uses gentle to firm finger pressure. When these acupressure points are stimulated, they release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood, and enhance the body's life force energy to aid healing.

This simple practice is very good for health. Give it a go. I hope you get some benefit from it.

See you in class.

Good person through - Meditation

Take care

At times you may feel as though being a 'good' person is slightly out of your grasp.

Even if you wanted to be a good person, where is the instruction manual? Where are the teachers, the coaches, and the schools? People spend years studying how to be good at everything - from sports to medicine to plumbing - except how to be good to people.

You have a really good chance of becoming a 'good' person by practicing meditation and applying the tried and true formula's of past and present Yoga saints. They teach us that we are neither our earth body or our subtle body (the mind or thoughts).

We offer Yoga Nidra classes here at our Yoga studio, through this practice you are able to experience this for yourself. One of the exercises, is to watch the thoughts that come into your mind and exit again, just as you watch a cloud come into view and then pass off into the distance. In this way you are able to have practical experience of not being the  mind or thoughts within the mind. You are in fact the observer of the mind. Knowing that 'you' are in charge of your thoughts enables you to better control or manage the mind and your thoughts.

Through the practice of meditation you also become aware of the fact that we are all brothers and sisters, kindred spirits in a sense, muddling through life. The revelations that come from this understanding make it so that you automatically become more aware that you should be more caring and more careful of how you treat others, through word or action.

One must remember that not all meditations are equal. Not all meditations lead to the same place. It is important to receive your meditation from an authentic source and that the meditations are linked to the Lord of Yoga - Yogesvara the Supreme.

This is a massive topic, if you would like to find out more on who 'YOU' are, your essence - I encourage you to contact us, leave a comment or visit our Fb page and sister blogs. It's a super fascinating subject one that I'm sure you will find once given due diligence will enrich your life forever.

Take care
