Djembe Drumming Lessons For Beginners
How can I benefit from Djembe Druming
Maybe you’ve been minding your own business, taking a leisurely stroll through a local park, and have happened upon a group of drummers seemingly pounding away in their own world of rhythm. Perhaps, if you were really lucky, you were invited to join the circle. It is these people, beating their djembes and maybe shaking their rattles, or tambourines that can inspire, intimidate or otherwise beckon the curious into their musical lair of healing and togetherness. What is it about drum circles and drumming that is so mysterious to the bystander, and how could a drum circle possibly benefit you, personally or professionally?Drumming itself has numerous health, wellness and healing benefits. It has proven benefits for those with emotional disorders, chronic pain, stress and anxiety, hypertension, illnesses like cancer, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. It also helps improve both fine and gross motor skills, helps both sides of the brain connect and enhance neurological and cognitive functions, improve IQ and test scores, and can even boost immunity. Drumming can also burn around 270 calories per hour, making it a fun and interesting way to incorporate light cardio exercise into your routine.
Beyond the individual health and wellness benefits of drumming, a group of drummers provides its own benefits that enhance the healing properties of the drums and rhythms. Drumming with others can help establish community bonds and allow people to connect together on a level that does not require awkward small talk.
Teamwork and cooperative skills that are needed in businesses and corporations, schools or
other group organizations, are established naturally through drum circles. By participating in a drum circle, the community rhythms that are produced do not rely on only one other member, and each contributor has their own sound to add, creating a musical picture of the power of collaboration that can translate well into business environments.
With the known benefits of drumming and drum circles for people facing illness or physical limitations, and its benefits for teamwork, stress and anxiety reduction, picking up a drum could be the answer to what ails you. Even beyond the mental and physical help that drumming provides, it is also a great way to express yourself creatively. Drumming is fun, it provides fantastic health and wellness benefits and its physical, mental and emotional benefits in a group setting are even more remarkable. Grab a drum, a friend and start drumming to your own rhythms.

To our new event. The first one will be on Thursday May 1st. Hope to see you then. For more details on "Mantras On Tahiti" keep reading.
Greetings to those who already know about the DEVINE benefits of singing meditations (traditionally known as Kirtan) AND welcome also to new comers who would like to learn about and take part in this beautiful, ancient, scientifically based process.
This timeless practice is the perfect antidote for modern day society which sadly appears to be synonymous with struggle, stress, chaos and toxic living conditions.
This is an amazing gift passed to us by past and present self realised yoga masters, free of charge. A brilliant technique to help us uncover our spiritual essence and connect us with the Supreme. Authentic mantras also come with attractive side benefits. They help bring us into balance, help us to relax, refocus, find our center and simply let go of anxiety and life's challenges.
We invite you to come reconnect spiritually, nourish your inner being, experience heartfelt joy, harmony and happiness. Sit, or dance, breathe and listen carefully, whilst becoming deeply absorbed in the powerful transcendent sound of liberating, ancient, soulful mantras. You then have the opportunity to sing in response. Repeating meditations that uncover your pure spiritual essence, naturally.
There is nothing to join. This is a totally non-sectarian way of uniting all sentient beings, on a journey of self discovery, a pathway paved with beautiful mystical mantras.
No special skills required, no previous experience needed, this practice is suitable for everyone.
Om Hari Om
Peace to all living beings

Health Benefits of Coconut Water
Coconut water, or also known as coconut juice, is the nutritious clear liquid that is inside the coconut fruit. The liquid will get absorbed and become part of coconut flesh as it matures. So, for best result, consume it shortly after harvested from the coconut tree while they are still young and green.
Coconut water has been a popular drink in tropical regions, especially in Southeast Asia and Pacific Islands such as Hawaii, where it is available fresh, canned, or bottled. In the US, coconut water is often sold in bottles and tetra packs.
Coconut water is low in sugar and fat but high in electrolytes such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus, making it a better isotonic drink than any sports beverage sold on the market.
Coconut water is also considered as a “fluid of life” because it contains many key nutrients such as Lauric acid, Chloride, Iron, Zinc, Manganese and Selenium as well as important electrolytes. A healthy balance of electrolytes and minerals are essential for optimal health of our cardiovascular, muscles, nervous and immune systems.
Health Benefits of Coconut Water
- Reduce high blood pressure
Coconut water is high in potassium and some studies have reported that low levels of potassium has been linked to high blood pressure. Therefore, drinking coconut water regularly can help in regulating blood pressure. Similar recent studies also have found that coconut water can help raise HDL (good) cholesterol, which makes it an excellent natural treatment for maintaining good cardiovascular health. - Strengthens the Immune System
The lauric acid in Coconut water has antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, and antiprotozoal properties, which help strengthen the body’s immune system against a variety of viruses and illness. - Keeps the Body Hydrated
Since coconut water contains all five of the same electrolytes that the body has, including potassium, magnesium, chloride, calcium and sodium it plays an important role in keeping the body hydrated during physical activities. Even the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have fought for a patent in 2000 to promote coconut water as the next big sports drink. - Helps Lose Weight
Coconut water is low in calories and 99% fat-free. A serving of coconut water has just 46 calories. So regular intake of coconut water can help shed unwanted pounds by increasing the metabolic rate. - Aids in Digestion and Metabolism
Coconut water contains various bioactive enzymes such as acid phosphatase, catalase, dehydrogenase, diastase, peroxidase and RNA polymerases, which help to overcome the problem of digestion and metabolism. Drinking of coconut water on a regular basis has been shown effective in dealing abdomen discomfort. - Improve Blood Circulation
Coconut water is also good source of fiber, vitamin C and protein which can help in improving blood circulation and heart rate. - Good for Pregnant Women
Coconut water is an efficient natural remedy for pregnant women who suffer from acidity, constipation and heartburn problems. It also helps boost the levels of amniotic fluid, which plays a vital role in the overall wellness of the baby. With such great benefits, it is no wonder that coconut water is recommended for pregnant women. - Treats Urinary Infections
Coconut water is a natural diuretic which helps prevent urinary tract infections (UTI) as well as relieve the kidney stones problem. - Promotes Skin Health
Coconut water acts as a light moisturizer which also decreases excessive oil on the skin. This proves to be beneficial for smoothing the skin as well. It can be used directly to a bath or mix with liquid shower gel. This natural water is also best for treating acne and blackheads as well. - Increase Energy Levels
The lauric acid in coconut water stimulates the production of thyroid hormones, thereby increasing your metabolic rate, which in turn increase your energy level.

Ride Your Bike - Yoga Palm Beach
The Benefits of Bike Riding
A thirty minute bike ride will burn up about 8 kilojoules at a social pace, or 26 kj if you ride at 25 kph or faster. Compare that to 5kj for a slow walk or 9kj for half an hour of sit ups!

So bike riding is an effective form of exercise and can be part of a fitness or weight loss program. But there are other advantages as well.
* Unlike working out in a gym, bike riding will get you out in the fresh air and into different environments. You will be able to clear your mind and relax and enjoy yourself.
* Riding outside also exposes you to sunlight which is a natural source of vitamin D.
* Bike riding isn’t very stressful on most of your body, and it’s certainly less jarring than going for a run although a medium paced jog burns a similar amount of energy.
* Bike riding can be practical. Consider riding next time you need to visit a friend or maybe even use it as a way to get to work each day. Not only will you get some exercise, you’ll save petrol money, save the environment and may even save time.
* Make it social. It’s hard to chat whilst swimming or doing aerobics, but bike riding with a friend allows for chatting and you can have a break, stop for a picnic and relax at the end.
*Riding a bike with the rush of wind in your face can give a real sense of exhileration, release endorphins and make it so you feel better.
I really enjoy bike riding but I do find my muscles tighten up, that's why it's essential to stretch before riding and after riding also. Feels great to stretch your hips, ham strings and spine especially the lower back. If you enjoy bike riding make a point of stretching.

Yoga Breathing Benefits - Yoga Palm Beach
Raise your arms and Inhale
We very rarely pay attention to, or give a second thought to the way we breathe. Yoga practise builds body awareness. We are taught to focus on our breath, become aware of our breath, regulate our breath and so on. As you know we can't live without breathing, not for very long at least. We can live without food or water for a few days, BUT air ... I'm afraid we need it to live. How
we breathe can have a huge impact on our life and your health. Medical
studies have shown that the simple act of deep breathing can have
significant health benefits.
If we simply take a few moments to breathe deeply we can really improve our health:
Slow deep breathing helps reduce tension - If you find you are super stressed, take a break, take time out and breath. Try 10 very slow deep breaths. You will quickly feel more relaxed. Deep breathing supplies the body with the oxygen we need to function. Slow deep breathing will infuse your body with oxygen, you will feel revitalised, less stressed and allot calmer.
Slow deep breathing helps reduce pain - Expectant mothers go to classes to learn breathing techniques to cope with the pain of giving birth. The midwives or doctors tell the soon to be 'mums' to slow the breathe down at certain times during their labour as this helps to focus, reduces pain, and helps with delivery. When you take deep breaths your body releases endorphins. Endorphins are your body's way of fighting pain.

The physical building blocks of yoga are the posture (asana) and the breath. A series of poses held in time with breathing.
Benefits include:
- Cardiovascular system (heart and arteries) – asanas are isometric, which means they rely on holding muscle tension for a short period of time. This improves cardiovascular fitness and circulation.
- Studies show that regular yoga practice may help normalise blood pressure.
- Digestive system – improved blood circulation and the massaging effect of surrounding muscles speeds up a sluggish digestion.
- Musculo-skeletal – joints are moved through their full range of motion, which encourages mobility and eases pressure. The gentle stretching releases muscle tension and increases flexibility. Maintaining many of the asanas encourages strength and endurance. Weight-bearing asanas may help prevent osteoporosis, and may also help those already diagnosed with osteoporosis, practiced with care, under the supervision of a qualified yoga teacher. Long-term benefits include reduced back pain and improved posture.
- Nervous system – improved blood circulation, easing of muscle tension and the act of focusing the mind on the breath all combine to soothe the nervous system. Long-term benefits include reduced stress and anxiety levels, and increased feelings of calm and wellbeing.
